I made an exploratory trip to downtown Orlando to locate the venue(s) for Barcamp Orlando. Downtown Orlando is really a true downtown with all the buildings and pedestrians you would expect. What I want to give you is some tips on finding this place and parking.
First, note that if you are traveling west on I4, exit 83 is closed. Yahoo maps sent me there and I had to take the next exit, 82. Don’t panic. That whole area wraps onto itself. A short drive later I turned left on Magnolia and back tracked south to where I needed to be. Took a left on Jefferson and then another left on Orange Ave.
Once you get into the downtown area, it’s easy to move back and forth.
There are not too many building number signs anywhere. The
Parking
Orange Ave runs north and south. I parked on Central Blvd. I drove on Orange Ave and turned right. The parking garage is a city property just a few yards from the intersection. It costs $15 a day to park. Do not go to the parking garage on Jefferson St. It only supports metered parking which means you need coins. The attendant said that it is closed for economic reasons.

This is my second barcamp. My first one was in Miami. That one flowed well. Presentations are short and to the point. Learn what you can. But any topic should be followed later to learn more.
